The Creative Vision
of Teen Designers
Mobile Navigation
Building the prototypes out of cardboard and paper, AFH teen designers envisioned a stunning ceiling installation made out of three miles of steel ball chain for Park 151 in Cambridge Crossing. They named it "Cascade".
The Process
Made out of ball chain—a simple, known material intentionally repurposed, "Cascade" creates an impressive entry to developer DivcoWest’s new residential complex in Cambridge Crossing, developed in partnership with CBT Architects.
This collaborative project, spanning three years and involving a multitude of teen designers, seamlessly coming in and out of the process, demonstrates the power of bringing young designers' voice, creativity and commitment to the table. The teens worked alongside AFH 3D Design Studio mentors to develop this amazing, creative solution for a prominent Boston developer and an architectural and interior design firm. This type of exposure and confidence offered to aspiring teens is incomparable and what makes AFH’s mission still pioneering today!

"I'm delighted all the way around. I’m delighted with the process. I'm delighted with the individuals. I'm delighted with the piece, and I’m delighted with the professionalism that they [AFH] brought to it."
